Traffic Alert: Geotechnical Drilling on SR 14

From July 20–22, crews will conduct geotechnical drilling along State Route 14 (SR 14) at Dock Grade Road, west of the Hood River Bridge Road intersection, and at North Shore Drive. During this work, crews will collect soil and rock samples to help inform the design of foundations for new Variable Message Signs (VMS) and a future roundabout.

What to expect:

  • Work hours from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

  • Shoulder and lane closures

  • Lane shifts and flagging operations

  • Traffic control signs and cones

  • Minor traffic delays

Motorists should plan ahead for travel in the area.

Pedestrians and bicyclists affected by shoulder closures will be guided safely through the work zone by flaggers.

During the work, travelers can expect to see traffic control crews, drill rigs, and geotechnical drilling operations within the project area.

Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work to support future transportation improvements for the new bridge.
