Traffic Alert: Geotechnical Drilling on State Route 14

From July 20-22, crews will be conducting geotechnical drilling along State Route 14 (SR 14) at Dock Grade Road (west of the Hood River Bridge Road intersection) and North Shore Drive.

With the bridge design now 60% complete, it's a great time to explore the key components of the future crossing and learn how they work together to safely carry people and goods across the Columbia River.

More than 200 local students got a firsthand look at careers in the trades during the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Project’s first Career and Industry Day. Through hands-on demonstrations, heavy equipment exhibits, and conversations with industry professionals, students explored the many career pathways helping shape the future of infrastructure in the Columbia Gorge.

White Salmon resident and retired U.S. Army Colonel Keith Hirschman has been appointed to the Hood River–White Salmon Bridge Authority Board, completing the 12-member bi-state body. Learn more about Commissioner Hirschman.
